It is this club’s belief that standing as a role model through its actions is the most effective way to change peoples’ minds and reveal to them the importance of loyalty and civic service to communities. A hero doesn’t have to be superman or somebody with the strength of ten men, we entirely obliterate that stereotypical hero as we, mere students, work for change. As Eli Wiesel I swore never to be silent whenever and wherever human beings endure suffering and humiliation. We must always take sides. Neutrality helps the oppressor, never the victim. Silence encourages the tormentor, never the tormented.”
