About Heroes
Who We are:
The Heroes of Tomorrow is an organization that is student ran and student driven. The organization was founded in the summer of 2008, then in the start of the 2008 school year, the Poku Twins pulled it into McNeil High school. The Founders Daniel and David Poku focus on creating original projects to confront issues in the Greater Austin community. These are two students, who in the grass roots stages of creating their organization knew that they did not want to limit themselves to one issue or problem. Therefore they focused on not one or two problems but four problem concepts in the community that generally depict all the major issues in their community. This is a unique organization, in the sense that it does not believe in passive engagement, but it believes in active participation.

How it Started:
This organization was founded by David and Daniel Poku, who are two aspiring African American students at McNeil High school. It started from collaboration between the two of them and started off as a dream, then grew into reality. The Heroes of Tomorrow Sprang to helping homelessness by the support of the neighboring community, they contributed as these two students went door to door, letting each individual know about this dream, this fantasy, this vision.
The Heroes of Tomorrow is an organization which runs on the participation of 15-20 active members. The organization is now working in accordance with Austin Non-profit as fiscal agents as they, concurrently are starting their own non-profit charter.
Partnerships:
The Heroes of Tomorrow is proud to say that they are working with the Clairmont Retirement Home. Through Karen Dollgener-Watson The General manager, they have had the opportunity for free transportation for the less-fortunate families that they are working with, as well as large amounts of restaurant style food for their less fortunate families. The Retirement home also has helped out with financial contributions as well canned-food donations and special event fundraisers.
The Heroes of Tomorrow is also proud to announce that they are working in accordance with the Foundation for the Homeless, which is a shelter to under privileged families. The Foundation for the Homeless provides needy families who are willing to get help and enjoy the help that is offered from the projects.
